Teodora Sena was born in June 1986 in Brasov, Romania and received her first piano lessons, from her mother. AT the age of 8, she was performing already on stage and participating in piano competitions. At the age of 8, she heard the famous flutist James Galway and decided to play the flute as well.

A few years later at the age of 14, she performed her first flute recital. Teodora began her flute and piano studies in Brasov at the College of Music and continued studying at the National University of Music  in Bucharest, Romania. In the same year, she followed another passion and enrolled at the Academy of Economics in Bucharest, the Faculty of Business Administration in English. She graduated from both universities in 2008.

Between 2013 and 2017, she studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Lucerne, Switzerland.  During her studies, Teodora received scholarships from the Hirschmann Foundation, the C. und A. Kupper Foundation and Konservatorium Dreillinden.

 
Since her early teens, she has performed as a soloist with orchestra. She has also performed as a flutist and piccolo player in the Romanian Youth Orchestra, the National Radio Orchestra, the George Enescu Philharmonic and the Orchestra of the Romanian Opera and Youth Orchestra of Central Switzerland.

 An important step in her career was made in February 2012 when she had the chance to gain the position of the Assistant to the Artistic Director of the Sergiu Celibidache Festival in Romania, under the presidency of Serge Ioan Celebidachi. This position gave her the opportunity to develop her artistic and event management skills and the chance to work with artists of international music environment.

She kept following her passion for the music management by working since 2017 in the management team of Festival Strings Lucerne. S

Teodora currently  continues to develop her musical career, playing solo and chamber music concerts, as part of a duo with either piano, harp or guitar and as a trio with cello and piano.

Alpha Duo 

 

An exclusively classical duo, Alpha Duo was founded by two sisters who grew up together in a musical family environment where they started playing  together at the ages of 6 and 7. Later on, due to their university options, Alexandra and Teodora decided on separate their paths: Alexandra continued her piano studies at the Conservatory of Milano, Italy and Teodora followed with her flute studies at the University in Lucerne, Switzerland.

In 2016, they decided to found the Alpha Duo. They perform recitals with different themes,  in an effort to promote in the same time the Romanian, Swiss and Italian music
